Dale is the president of Illustration Institute’s board. He is a founding partner of FLS Energy, overseeing its growth from start up to over $350mm in revenue during 2015 when FLS was ranked 27th on the Grant Thornton top 100 privately held NC companies. Dale has facilitated the creation and implementation of management processes that enabled the company to receive recognition as the fastest growing company in North Carolina for two consecutive years by Inc. Magazine . As a nationally certified solar energy designer/installer (NABCEP), Dale led the development of the solar energy system atop the first LEED Platinum-certified hotel in the US, the Proximity Hotel located in Greensboro NC, and oversaw the development, financing and construction of over 450mw of PV capacity.
Dale lead a recapitalization process which culminated in the successful merger of FLS with Cypress Creek Renewables. Other milestones include commissioning the largest flat plate solar thermal system in the country at Prestage Farms and over 2000 solar thermal systems on military bases nationwide.
He has proudly served on advisory boards for Western Carolina University's Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Program and the University of North Carolina Energy Frontier Research Center's Industrial Advisory Board. He served as a member of the SEIA Federal Advisory Committee and sits on the ACORE Advisory Committee. He is the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award recipient.
